Long Range Transportation Plan - Moving Forward RI 2040

The 2040 Rhode Island Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and Metropolitan Transportation Plan establish a long range course for investing in the State’s transportation system that will help ensure Rhode Island remains a great place to live, work, and do business. Components of the LRTP include the Bicycle Mobility Plan, Congestion Management Plan, and Transit Master Plan.


Special Commission to Study the Entire Area of Land Use

The Division of Statewide Planning has a seat at the table to participate in this Commission, which was created by the General Assembly in its 2021 legislative session, with a reporting deadline of April 2022. The following presentation was given by Associate Director Meredith Brady at the October 19th Commission meeting: it provides some background about the Division, the State Guide Plan, local comprehensive plans, and Land Use 2025, the existing land use element of the State Guide Plan
